·         Collaboration with a speech pathologist

Regional Rehab is a mobile Speech Pathology service to adults in the community. A mobile service provides home-based therapy which can help to fit appointments into your busy schedule.

Home-based speech therapy offers a range of benefits for adults, including convenience, flexibility, a comfortable and familiar environment and increase family involvement and support.

The Comfort of one’s home can increase the effectiveness of speech pathology. A familiar environment reduces stress and anxiety and can make it easier for clients to engage in therapy.

Family members can actively contribute to client’s progress in home-based therapy. Their involvement can be incredibly beneficial proving emotional support, creating a supportive environment, offering guidance and motivation.

Practicing speech therapy in the home can help with the generalisation of skills to their real lives. When therapy is conducted at home, clients learn and practice their skills in the environment where they will be using them most often. This can lead to more efficient and faster progress in speech therapy.
